Privacy Policy ISUC2008 Steering Committee Yuichi Matsushima, General Chair 2nd International Symposium on Universal Communication (ISUC2008) Steering Committee (hereinafter called "the Committee") pledges to pay due attention to managing your personal information, which the Committee collects in the course of its operations, in such manners as described below. 1. Information Gathering and Use The Committee gathers and uses your personal information solely for the purposes specified below. Your supplied personal information will not be used beyond the scope of those purposes. - To collect papers for review and communicate with authors for subsequent publishing process; - To manage registration to attend the symposium; and - To send information in connection with the symposium. 2. Deposit of Personal Information for Subcontracting The Committee may deposit your provided personal information with a third party for the purpose of data aggregation or processing. Subcontractors in such cases are limited to those whom the Committee deems to have a satisfactory privacy policy, and who are bound by an agreement on secrecy and other obligations in their handling of personal information. 4. Reminder for Your Information Supply It is entirely up to your discretion whether or not to submit your personal information to the Committee. Please note, however, that some services may not be provided if no entry is made to any item marked "essential." 5. Miscellaneous The Committee observes all laws and ordinances applicable to personal information you provide. - The Committee may review its privacy policy to seek better protection of your personal information, or as a result of changes to relevant laws or ordinances of Japan. - The Committee website includes links to external sites. The Committee is not responsible for the privacy policy or content of those sites. 6.
