A patrolman driving past 157 Washington Ave. saw a man drinking a can of beer on the street. Fernando Tailor, 35, of Newark, was issued a summons for drinking in public and released.

A Livingston man is being held on bail after he stabbed a Belleville resident following a road-rage incident.
According to police, the two drivers exited their cars in the area of 390 Franklin Ave around 9:30 p.m. after the road-rage incident.
Michael Murray, 27, of Livingston, allegedly began punching Pavel Pimentel, 38, of Belleville before Pimentel removed his belt and swung his belt buckle at Murray. Murray then allegedly pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed Pimentel in the middle of his back while also cutting him near his right eye. Murray also allegedly took Pimentel's cell phone and threw it to the ground.
Murray was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, theft and criminal mischief. He was being held in lieu of bail in Belleville.
