OSU Not Commenting on Lariviere Situation

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- While the Lariviere situation might be a hot topic in Eugene, no one's saying much about it up at Oregon State University.

While many University of Oregon students are rallying on behalf of their president, students at OSU are left in the dark.

About 90 percent of the students KEZI spoke with Monday said they had not heard anything about the University of Oregon's President Richard Lariviere.

"I don't know anything about this situation, no," said Miriam Buckles, OSU student.

That might be because Oregon State University administrators have decided to keep quiet about the whole Lariviere situation.

Administrators say it's a personnel matter involving the University of Oregon and its current president, and the Oregon University System.

They say their decision has nothing to do with two members of the board of higher education being from OSU, they just feel it wouldn't be appropriate to comment because they say it has nothing to do with their students.
